yellow walls and fireplace a relaxing place to hang out

The Parlour.

A bright, airy entrance room just off Bridge Street - offers a relaxed space to pause and unwind after a day exploring Berwick or a good meal in one of the nearby restaurants. Thoughtfully put together, it’s a place to sit with a book, plan the next outing, or simply enjoy a quiet moment.

Shelves are lined with a small collection of travel books and easy reads, while original artwork of the building by local artist Chris Caput adds character to the space. There’s a fridge stocked with complimentary drinks, and umbrellas by the door ready to borrow, a small but useful touch given the Northumberland weather.

The building is heated using a fully renewable system, combining biomass, on-site solar generation and battery storage to provide consistent warmth throughout the year. The system has been designed, installed and is maintained by Biomass Boiler Services, specialists in commercial renewable heating.

It’s a welcoming, informal space designed for slowing down, chatting, and settling into your stay.
